More Traction Control Brakes Information

Motorcycle brakes lock on the high and low spots of the rotors, but your TCB unit acts as a shock absorber so it helps your brakes float over the high and low spots which means it helps your brakes from locking prematurely lock.

When confronted with an emergency situation the last thing you want is to under brake and hit the object you were trying to avoid or over brake and dump your motorcycle; Traction Brakes can help in both situations.

The reason why most riders under brake is because they do not want to lock their brakes and dump their motorcycle. Traction brakes help avoid the premature lock up that you get with regular brakes and you can squeeze your brake harder confidently because the TCB unit will help your brakes float over the high and low spots on the rotor. In the situation where without the TCB unit the rider over brakes, Traction Brakes again help avoid the premature locking of the brakes.

The second advantage is that the TCB unit gives you more range in the feel of your brake levers. Often with back brakes the difference between some braking and locking the back wheel is a very slight difference in pressure. The TCB will make it so you can better feel how much of your braking potential you are using and better know how close you are to locking your brakes.
